I'm sure this place would have been fun. I looked on the website and check Google which both appeard to indicate this place was open. However when we arrived there was no one to be seen and it looks like it was closed for the season, slightly disappointed I didn't get to see the birds of prey however i will try and next year when it opens.

Wonderful and informative. We had a blast when we went. The birds are beautiful and we had a shot of holding an owl and a kestrel as part of the flight demonstration. The show with the insects and various reptiles had to be my favorite. The boys were knowledgeable, and they were amazing with my 3 year old who can be quite shy. Cannot fault them. Go visit or you'll miss out!!

Tucked away on the edge of Haven @ Haggerston Castle is Andy Howeys Bird of Prey and Reptile House. Frankly Haven should be doing more to promote this excellent attraction on their turf as it doesnt feature in their leaflets but I suppose they are generic for all Haven sites. In short, if youre staying at Haven Haggerston Castle, visit Bird of Prey and Reptile House. We took a family ticket for 21 for two adults and two children. We intended to watch the 11am show and got there 20 minutes beforehand and took a look around at some of the birds on display. Be sure to see the tiny harvest mice in the shed!Jamie hosted the display/show at 11 with assistance from Ben. It was thoroughly enjoyable and the kids loved it. Jamie was relaxed and knowledgable, ensuring that everyone had a turn and encouraged all to come and have a hold of snakes or even have a tarantula sit on your head but with no pressure for those who were simply happy to watch from a distance. After the reptile/spider show, a short walk around the corner to the small wooded area where Jamie and Ben flew an owl and kestrel to the fist, again ensuring that any who wanted were able to put on a glove and have a bird fly to your fist.Great experience for all ages, thoroughly enjoyed it. Thanks Jamie and Ben :-)

Even if it's raining don't be put off. We went as a family of four, our children are 17 & 13 perhaps more suited for younger children but still enjoyed it. Staff are very friendly and clearly love their job, the enclosures are clean and all the birds and creatures look fantastic. Being able to handle the snakes , lizards, rats and of course a tarantula was fab , nothing is forced on to you , you stay seated if you don't want to get involved or go up and enjoy the hands on touch and hold . A little owl was flown inside then a larger owl was flown outside in the wood where everyone could handle it but again only if you wanted to . All in all a nice hour or so and glad we went . Thank you so much

Me and my family had a brilliant time today and the birds of prey and reptiles show.. staff were all lovely, friendly and helpful. Very hands on for children didn't expect my boys to hold and touch half of the animals but they felt so comfortable and at ease. Fantastic experience.
