Come back for 2nd visit because liked it so much first time. Beautiful historical town - lots to see and do - walls to walk,estuary to walk along castle to see, breakwater to walk along to lighthouse, beautiful cliff walks, lots of wildlife - seals, swans, cormorants and gannets and today we were watching salmon leaping in esturary too. Lovely old town centre with lots cafes and shops. Oh and I didn't mention how beautiful the beaches in this area are and all the fascinating castles to visit as well. Highly recommend a visit! Berwick-upon-Tweed is the worst place I have visited empty shops and seagull droppings everywhere. The local council should be ashamed at the run down state of the town. What a wasted weekend I will never return.
