Decided on the Mac and cheese ( with pulled chicken and chorizo) while my partner had beer fried haddock, the meals came out with in 10min ( very quick I thought) , I found out why, although my partner's fish and chips was lovely, my macaroni was frozen through, . The girl took it back with no worries and after 15mins( normal I would say) came back with a new meal for me, this time round it was great, really nice,. So in all nice food, nice staff, nice atmosphere, a nice place to stop off while waiting for the bus
Very nice very reasonably priced, nice environment. Chips were a little cold , burger slightly overseasoned. Onion rings and chicken wings delicious possibly the best I have had, really nice on the whole. Light background music and quiet at the time we visited. Staff were friendly and polite. Couldn't ask for much more.

Loved this bar when it was a Wetherspoons but gone totally down hill now. No real ales on except Green King IPA. Lots of customers asking if they were going to put any ales on only to be told no. Food diabolical, I ordered the steak pie on pie night - pie was described as being 'encased' in pastry but it was a tiny slice that was burnt, I couldn't put my folk in the steak it was that hard. On a different occasion I ordered fish and chips and my partner upgraded to large cod and chips but the 2 meals were exactly the same! Very disappointing.
Definitely improved under the new ownership and since the recent makeover the pub underwent. Plenty of space to stand and chat. There are plenty of TVs to watch and are also in the individual booths. There are plenty of tables to eat at, and even space outside to eat and drink. Toilets are upstairs which can be an inconvenience, especially for those with walking difficulties.
