We had a superbly comfortable and luxurious stay at The Granary. Despite turning up completely covered in mud and dripping wet with bikes in tow, David and Pam took care of us, welcomed us in, provided refreshments instantly and whisked our outer layers away to dry them. We were stunned to find the items washed and the boots all scrubbed clean next morning ! Such kind, attentive and thoughtful hosts. Thank you. The tea and cakes on arrival as well as the sumptuous breakfast were fantastically delicious and served in top notch surroundings. The bedroom was equally luxurious, a fine treat after our few cold wet days of touring on bikes. We would recommend the treatments service too ; we enjoyed a relaxing couples massage by therapists David and Dawn. It was a shame we had to be off early to get our train. (We made it by the skin of our teeth !) It would have been nice to linger longer and stay another night to be able to enjoy all Berwicks treasures. Another time perhaps....

Stunning rooms, great breakfast and lovely hosts.

This past weekend my wife and I spent an evening at the Granary Guest House in lovely Berwick upon Tweed, UK. Their 5-star rating is well deserved. The attention to detail at the Granary is impeccable. A welcome addition is the efforts of David and Pam to make every guest feel like they are at their home-away-from-home. David was attentive and converse, but not overbearing. The house is intricately decorated, and welcoming. The room we stayed it was very comfortable and expertly equipped with all the amenities we would need for a good night's rest. Before we left for dinner, David served tea, whiskey, and biscuits, and gave us great directions to our restaurant. The bed was very comfortable and the room was dark for a truly restful sleep. In the morning, the breakfast was world-class. My wife has the Scottish breakfast, and I had the eggs Benedict with smoked trout. Breakfast started with fresh fruit with ginger syrup. David and Pam's breakfast was world-class, and David made sure that we didn't leave hungry for our waling tour of the walls that surround the town The Granary Guest House is a wonderful addition to a visit to Berwick upon Tweed, tour the history of the town, see a show at the Maltings theatre, and experience the coast of the North Sea. We'll definitely be back.

I loved my stay at The Granary - Elegant yet homey. The hosts, Pam and David, are friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable but not overbearing. The Granary sits on one of the loveliest streets in Berwick with 3 restaurants just 1 or 2 minutes' walk away. Pam makes the most fabulous breakfasts I've ever had at any B&B. The Eggs Benedict on smoked trout on a homemade buttered biscuit are scrumptious. The fresh fruit platters are works of art - stunning to both eye and palate. My room was private and very quiet. I loved the skylight through which I could see the steeple of the old Town Hall. A few yummy cookies were always on the "tea table" in case one needed a little something before bed. It was lovely to make a pot of tea after being out and about for the day. It's the little things that make The Granary so special. You like a particular kind of tea? Merely ask and it magically appears. Need lots of milk for your tea or coffee? Pam will stock a quart of milk in the fridge. Can't drink orange juice at breakfast? Mango juice was a wonderful substitution I didn't even ask for. The bathroom and fixtures were new and kept spotless. The towels luxurious. The bed comfortable. Wifi and sky TV always in good working order. As I was traveling on my own, I really appreciated the mini fridge in the room. I could keep a few things to have when I didn't feel like eating out. Before I realized that I could buy organic wine across the street at the Green Shop, I availed myself of the small bottles of wine stocked in the fridge. I would definitely stay at The Granary again anytime. I highly recommend it.

Best b+b there is.
